September 28, (THEWILL) – A free casket has been gifted to the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, posthumously amid preparations for a proper burial.
The free casket is courtesy of Ebony Vault, a funeral home in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Nollywood actresses, Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh, recently visited the funeral home to purchase a casket for the late singer, who died on September 12, at the age of 27 and was buried the next day.
Last Thursday, the police exhumed his corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
The corpse is expected to be reburied after the outcome of the autopsy.
Iyabo Ojo took to her Instagram page on Thursday, to give a glimpse of their preparations as they chose a casket for the burial. She said Dehinde Harrison, the vault’s CEO, gave them a free casket, a free hall, and a huge discount for the vault.
Other items secured, according to her, were free pallbearers, free horns men, two fresh wreaths, two wreath bearers, and a horse carriage.
Iyabo said a date for the burial, fixed by the family, would be announced when the police release the body to them.
“We do not want it to be that by the time we are now ready to bury him, we will start running helter-skelter. The body is still with them, there is no date yet fixed for his final burial. Finally, when they are done with the body, they will get to the family. The family will fix a date and then I am sure we will announce it,” she said
The Lagos Police Command, on September 18, inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe Mohbad’s death. The police also assured the public that there was no underhand dealing during the autopsy on the corpse.
