March 03, (THEWILL) – Kyrie Irving, the Dallas Mavericks’ superstar point guard, has made headlines for his recent philanthropic efforts.
He donated $45,000 to a GoFundMe campaign aimed at building an orphanage in Ghana and a school in Nigeria. The campaign has since surpassed its goal and has received over $65,000 in donations.
Irving’s generosity is not new, as he has always been involved in various charitable activities. Following the Mavs’ 133-126 win against the Philadelphia 76ers, Irving spoke about his charitable donation, stating that he tries to do little acts of kindness every day.
Irving’s performance against the Sixers and his charitable donation have caused him to trend on social media. The NBA star is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2022-23 season, and fans can expect him to continue his philanthropic efforts in the future.
The Mavs will face off against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday in their next outing with Irving expected to feature in his point guard position.
