Imo PDP: Appeal Court Upholds Ihedioha’s Victory As Guber Flag-bearer

SAN FRANCISCO, June 17, (THEWILL) – A Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, Imo state capital, has upheld the judgement of a Federal High Court which dismissed a suit filed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, challenging the primary election that saw Governor Emeka Ihedioha as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the last Imo governorship elections.

Delivering the judgement, the presiding judge, Justice Raphael Agbo, ruled that the plaintiff did not show enough evidence to convince the court on the prayers he sought that he should be declared the authentic winner of the PDP primary elections in October 2018

The judge added that the court could not establish the fact in the plaintiff’s claims that the primary election was marred with irregularities, he therefore dismissed the suit for lack of proof.
