July 09, (THEWILL) – The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) for the November 11 gubernatorial election in Imo State, Prince Obinna Ekwebelem, has promised to do well if elected governor in the forthcoming election, expressing confidence that better days await the people of the State.
The party’s flag-bearer stated this in his office while interacting with members of the Okigwe Zone media practitioners, who paid him a courtesy visit weekend.
The Okwelle-born businessman said that he decided to go into politics in order to meet the needs of his people, adding that he knows the challenges facing Imo State and that he would provide solutions to them.
He pleaded with the media to promote his aspiration so as to emerge victorious in the November 11 Imo Governorship election, wherein, according to him, the people of the State would rejoice.
“There is no social justice, that is why the security challenges are rising. I would tackle insecurity ravaging Imo under One hundred days,” he said.
He promised to touch the lives of the people positively, saying that agriculture, education, sports, commerce and Industry, youth empowerment, health, security and other sectors would be given attention if he is voted into power.
“Imo Governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma, is doing well but I will do my best to make Imo better if I am given the mandate by the Imo people,” he stated.
Prince Ekwebelem also harped on Local Government elections, emphasising that it would abate rural dwellers moving into the urban area to domicile.
“For me to tackle insecurity in Imo, I would set up an independent technical committee. Traditional rulers, youths association, presidents general, transportation workers, market women, Okada riders and the religious leaders would be involved in the scheme of things,” he added.
