March 12, (THEWILL) – Charles Chibueze Chukwu, aka Crayon, has recounted his grass to grace journey.
The Mavins record signee took to Instagram to gush over himself and how far God has helped him despite his poor background.
According to him, he is the first millionaire in his family. Both from his paternal and maternal side.
The singer added that no member of his family has ever been so successful as he is right now.
He thanked God for using him to break generational curse in his family.
“I’m a living testimony of God. I’m the first star in my family. Both from my mum’s and dad’s. Generations, before me, nobody has been this successful in my family.
“I’m the first millionaire in my family. God raised me to break that generational curse”, he wrote.
Crayon’s journey has indeed been an inspiring one. Before making his debut in the music industry, he attempted Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, four times. However, he gave up at the fifth attempt to pursue his music career.
At a time, his family which is made up of seven members shared a room apartment.
His story changed after meeting Mavins record producer, Babyfresh, who introduced him to Don Jazzy. He was later signed to Mavins record. The singer has since carved unique path with some of his hit songs.
