I Will Use My Expertise As Fellow Of Security Institute To End Threats In Benue – Angya

January 04, (THEWILL) – Former Director General of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), and governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue state, Dr Paul Angya has pledged to use his expertise as a Fellow of Security Institute to effectively tackle security challenges facing the state.

The guber hopeful who made the declaration at Holidays Hotels and Resort, Makurdi while playing host to Benue North West caucus of the PDP and other stakeholders on the celebration of the new year, said when elected as governor in 2023, he will continue with the security policy of governor Samuel Ortom in guaranteeing lives and property.

“Governor Samuel Ortom is the hero in defence of Nigeria by his firm stance against those whose desire is to overrun Benue State and by extension, Nigeria. If the enemies had succeeded in overrunning the state, the rest of the country would have been relatively easy for them”.

According to Dr Angya, the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law enacted by the Ortom led PDP government is the best thing that has happened to the country as far as herders/farmers crisis is concerned, going by the number of governors desirous of implementing the same law in their respective states.

He called on Benue people to stand by the governor to remain focused as his administration gradually grinds to a halt in 2023.

“I have developed capacity both in the area of administration and security matters as a fellow of the Security Institute to take over the battle where governor Ortom will stop if given the opportunity to govern the state”.

Accompanied on the visit by his wife who was the former Vice Chancellor of Benue State University, Makurdi, Professor Charity Angya and members of his campaign team, Angya commended people of the senatorial district for their support and loyalty to the PDP and sued for sustenance even as he donated cows and cash to them to celebrate new year.

In their separate responses, Dr Cletus Tyokyaa who spoke for MINDA, Hon. Orjime for Jemgbagh, the Deputy Chairman of the Party, Chief Isaac Mfo all lauded Dr. Angya’s new year visit, saying, he is the first out of the lot to remember them during the festive period.

They advised him to remain focused and continue with his consultations devoid of name calling and bitterness, wishing him well as he traverses the state in search of the People’s mandate to govern them.
