I Will Continue Attracting Vital Projects, Eta Mbora

November 21, (THEWILL) – Member representing Calabar Municipality and Odukpani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Eta Mbora, has pledged to continue attracting vital projects to his constituenciea.

The representative made this known while reacting to reactions that trailed the recent phase of constituency projects spread across various communities that make up the federal constituency.

Projects being undertaken in the current phase by the lawmaker include three classroom blocs at Dan Archibong Memorial Secondary School Usung Esuk, Government Primary School Odukpani Qua Town, Primary School Akai Efa and 6 classroom blocs at PCN Primary School, IBB in Calabar.

Others are 500KVA transformers sited at Otop Otop Nyakassang, Ikot Uduak by MCC, Presbyterian Church, Graceland, Sateline Town and Saint Augustine Primary School Old Odukpani Road in Calabar.

The solar-powered boreholes are located at NUJ Press Center, State Housing Estate Calabar, Etta Agbor behind Fidelity Bank, Akim Market, Akpap Circus and Community Technical College Ikot Effagha Mkpa.

Mbora said the projects being executed are borne out of meticulous needs assessment to meet the needs of his people.

“It’s incumbent on me to continually thrive to interfere and build synergy especially at the federal level with relevant stakeholders in order to attract vital projects needed by my people.

“This current intervention is one in a series to address critical infrastructure deficit in order to boost commerce and industry, human capital development with a view of enhancing living standard,” he added.

Some members of the constituency and benefitting communities expressed satisfaction with the various projects.

Hon. Nyong Edet, a former leader of Odukpani Legislative Council, expressed delight and appreciation over the development.

He said, “Our people are excited over the increasing numbers of projects attracted to Odukpani by our House of Representatives member.

“The street lights at Creek Town has awaken night life, the solar powered borehole at Akpap Circus is going to address the challenge of portable drinking water and curtail possible outbreak of water borne disease.

“The 3 class rooms blocs each at Dan Archibong Memorial Secondary School Usung Esuk and Primary School, Odukpani Qua Town are set to tackle accommodation shortfall in our schools. This is what we desired, not throwing cash around without any tangible infrastructure on ground for an era.”

Also speaking, Andrew Edoh, a community leader in Otop Otop, Nyakassang in Calabar Municipality, said the 500 KVA transformer facilitated by the Ntufam Eta Mbora and undergoing installation within his community is appt and timely.

“We have been suffering from perennial blackout for years now due to the continuous tripping of the closest overloaded transformer that was feeding my area. This is a big relief to us.”

In the same vein, the chairman, Cross River State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Victor Udu, expressed appreciation on behalf of journalists in the state for the solar powered borehole at the NUJ Secretariat provided by the lawmaker.

He said the gesture would go a long away in ameliorating the water needs of residents of the area owing to irregular water supply by the State Water Board.
