December 04, (THEWILL) – Nigerian radio personality and television host, Toke Makinwa, has shared that her parents died in a fire accident while growing up.
During a recent episode of her podcast, Toke recalled the moment, describing it as her biggest fear to date, as she hosted comedian Ayodeji Richard Makun, popularly known as AY.
The conversation took an intense turn when they discussed the fire incident at AY’s Lagos residence, which occurred in August. Seizing the opportunity, Toke shared a poignant account of her own similar experience from many years ago.
She said, “I’ve been a victim of a house fire when I was a kid, and unfortunately both my parents died as a result of that. That’s one of my biggest fears.
AY responded: “Sorry about that. I’m just hearing this for the first time.
“I woke up to about 78 missed calls on the day of the incident. And I opened my phone and saw my house on Instablog.
“The fact that my family was on holiday was my point of Thanksgiving.”
