November 29, (THEWILL) – Nigerian rapper and dancehall artiste, Cynthia Morgan, has stated that she knew that Davido’s gesture to help her in 2020 was not real.
THEWILL recalls that Morgan, now called Madrina, was previously signed to Jude Okoye’s Northside Entertainment.
However, the artist and label had a falling out in 2020.
Amid the quarrel, Davido had asked Morgan to reach out to him for abmusic collaboration.
“Cynthia Morgan call me. Tell Cynthia I got an anthem for her. I’ll record my verse now,” he had written on Twitter.
The gesture drew commendations at that time, with many Nigerians applauding the singer for offering to help Morgan.
However, during an interactive Instagram session on Sunday, a fan had asked if Morgan finally got assistance from the ‘OBO’ crooner after his tweet.
Replying, Morgan stated that she sensed that the gesture was not a genuine one but decided to play along so that people would not term her proud.
“Omo all those levels na washhh. I tried to give it a benefit of doubt, played along so make dem no talk say I too get pride, but in the end I was right! I hope we are done with this particular question since 2020. Make una let me rest oo,” she wrote.
