June 25, (THEWILL) – American actor, Harrison Ford, has revealed that he is not yet ready to retire from his acting career, which has spanned many decades.
He made this known in an interview with Chris Wallace, the CNN host.
When asked if he will be retiring as he is preparing to turn 81 on July 13th, he revealed that he is not ready because he just wants to be useful.
“I don’t do well when I don’t have work. I love to work. I love to feel useful. It’s my Jones, I want to be helpful,” he stated.
Wallace also asked him what he liked about acting so much that he is not ready to let go. Responding, the actor revealed that the bond he has formed with people he had worked with keeps him going.
“It is the people that you get to work with. The intensity and the intimacy of collaboration.
“It’s the combined ambition, somehow forged from words on a page. I don’t plan what I want to do in a scene and I don’t feel obliged to do anything but I am naturally affected by the things that I work on,” he started.
However, he revealed that he is retiring from playing Indiana Jones. He added that his final time playing the archaeologist will be in the upcoming series, ‘Dial of Destiny’.
“This is the final film in the series, and this is the last time I’ll play the character,” he revealed.
‘Indiana Jones’, the American media franchise based on adventure, started in 1981. Different series and films have been released under the franchise, with the latest one, ‘Dial of Destiny’, to be released on June 30.
