BEVERLY HILLS, June 13, (THEWILL) – Last night saw a bevy of Hollywood and Broadway’s popular faces turn out in their most glamorous attires for the 70th Annual Tony Awards held at the Bacon Theatre, New York City.
The ceremony comes hours after a gunman killed 50 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. This year’s awards were dedicated to the victims’ loved ones.
In a statement, organizers of the event said they hope to bring extra acknowledgment to all those influenced by the horrendous act of violence:
“Our hearts are heavy for the unimaginable tragedy that happened last night in Orlando. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected. The Tony Awards dedicate tonight’s ceremony to them.”
