Hit and Run Driver Kills Pupil On Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway

October 28, (THEWILL) – A hit and run driver crushed a female pupil to death around Beni Village along Abeokuta-Ibadan expressway.

The accident involved the minor and another boy who was rescued unhurt as the unidentified vehicle hit the girl.

The boy explained that they had just closed from their school and were trying to cross the road before the vehicle, which had no registration number, killed his female colleague.

The spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta.

Akinbiyi said that the driver of the vehicle ran away as soon as he hit the girl

He added that the girl’s corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital, Odeda morgue.

Meanwhile, a truck has crushed to death an Okada rider around Lameda bus stop in Ifo Local Government Area of the Ogun State

Two persons also sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident.

The crash involved a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AAB 686 VP and a loaded Daf Truck with registration number T 691 LA.

Eyewitness said that the cause of the accident was as a result of over speeding on the part of the Okader rider.

According to Akinbiyi, the rider lost control of his motorcycle and ran into the truck.

He explained that five occupants were involved in the crash that left two injured and one dead.

The TRACE PRO added that the injured person was taken to General Hospital, Ifo, by a good Samaritan, while the body of motorcyclist had been deposited at the morgue.
