Helen Prest-Ajayi, former beauty queen and partner of Dr Tosin Ajayi, the founder of First Foundation Medical Centre, has marked the third anniversary of his demise and second anniversary of his memorial. Contrary to the belief in public domain, Helen was never married to the late doctor. They were simply live-in lovers. The late medical practitioner passed on in 2020, but his body was not buried until almost a year after his death due to a tussle between Helen and late Ajayi’s first wife, Yemisi, alongside his five older children. They had all disagreed over the cause of the doctor’s death, where and how he should be buried, among other things. The
squabble had delayed the deceased’s funeral for about 10 months. There was also mild drama between the warring parties while the burial rites were being conducted. After the dust had settled, the two women slugged it out in court as they both laid claims to the property of the late medical doctor. Helen and her daughters were later granted 50 per cent of Ajayi’s net assets. On the third anniversary of his death, Helen visited her partner’s grave in the company of her three children to have a chat with him. She had two daughters with the late doctor and a child from her previous marriage to Jimmy Davies. Helen penned an emotional and
lengthy note on her social media about life without Ajayi. According to her, the most important part of a relationship is the shared memories. Without these, she added, there is no relationship. The mother of three
acknowledged that she grumbled after Ajayi’s demise as his absence made her realise the magnitude of the love and care he showered on his family. She thanked God for the good life he lived before his death. Helen and her children dropped beautiful rose flowers on his tomb before their departure.
