November 16, (THEWILL) – Eden Hazard has acknowledged that if Real Madrid asks him to find a new home, he would quit the club in the summer.
Since his €100 million transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019, the Belgian attacker has fallen far short of expectations, scoring only seven goals in a pitiful 72 appearances for Los Blancos and missing most of his time in Spain due to injury.
Although he has been linked to a return to Chelsea, Hazard indicated in a recent interview that he has not come close to leaving the club although adding that a summer transfer abroad remained on the cards.
He said: “In January it is impossible [to leave] because I have family and I like the city. But in the summer it is possible that I go. I have one more year on my contract and it’s the club’s decision. If the club tells me ‘Eden, thanks for four years, but you have to go’, I have to accept it because it’s normal. But I would like to play more, show more that I can play, that I am a good player.”
