August 10, (THEWILL) – Unknown gunmen have killed a Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe officer, Olanrewaju Sofolahan, at his duty post in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The assailants, after killing the officer, also abducted a victim at Garden of Comfort Lodging, Bar & Event Centre, located at last bus stop, Soyoye, Abeokuta.
The spokesperson of the So-Safe Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, confirmed this to newsmen in Abeokuta on Monday.
Yusuf said the assailants stormed the bar on August 7, where they killed the officer and escaped with a female victim.
He said the corpse of Sofolahan had been deposited at the State Hospital Morgue, Ijaye, Abeokuta.
Meanwhile, the Corp’s Commander, Soji Gonzallo, had directed the Egba Zonal Command to fish out the culprits and ensure they are brought to book.
“Immediately I got the information, the operation team of Egba Zonal Command has been put on their toes to bring the culprits to book and to ensure they make the axis safer and secure for the good citizens of the State”, he added.
