September 12, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a police officer at Mile 6 area of Jalingo, Taraba State.
The officer, identified as Gamaliel was abducted along with his wife and a daughter, on Sunday morning.
Spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident said a woman was shot and subsequently confirmed dead at the hospital during the attack.
The officer, according to Abdullahi is a serving policeman attached to the Rivers State Command.
“The kidnappers came and scaled through the fence and kidnapped one police officer attached to Rivers State Command by the name Gamaliel. In the process, they kidnapped his wife and daughter. They shot him and a woman in the house. The woman was confirmed dead at the Federal Medical Centre.
“The command is working to make sure they are rescued unhurt”, said Abdullahi.
