November 11, (THEWILL0 – Gunmen, on Saturday, attacked party agents at the All Saints Anglican Church, Egbu and carted away large sum of money allegedly meant for vote buying.

THEWILL gathered that the gunmen, numbering 10, invaded the church premises housing four polling units.

One of the voters who spoke with newsmen, said the gunmen shot consistently before swooping on the three men sharing the money.

“We had just finished complaining about the APC agent’s low bargaining for votes when these boys walked in and demanded for the money that was about to be shared amidst heavy shooting, while everyone took to their heels.

“Everything happened in less than two minutes as everyone had run away. They simply walked away into their vehicles, and sped off”, Okey said.

According to The Nation, one of the party agents, who pleaded anonymity, said each of the polling units in the place was given N1 million for the election.

“But we had already shared a considerable amount of money before the boys struck. I only shared about N500,000 before the hoodlums struck”, he said.
