October 13, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted an assistant superintendent of police (ASP), Abdulmumini Yusuf, in Kwara State.
Yusuf, a serving officer at the Police Area Command in Ilorin was abducted on Tuesday night, while he was about to enter his house in the Ogidi area of Ilorin, the State capital.
Paul Odama, the Kwara commissioner of police, confirmed the development on Thursday.
Speaking on the incident, Spokesperson of the Command, Okasanmi Ajayi, said its operatives are working to rescue the officer.
Ayayi, however, said the motive of the abduction was still sketchy.
“The incident, as serious as it is, has not diminished the resolve of the command to protect lives and property of the citizens”, he said.
