Gunmen Abduct Catholic Priest In Taraba

October 30, (THEWILL) – The Catholic priest of St Ann’s Parish in Sarkin Kudu, Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Rev. Fr Thaddeus Tarhembe, has been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, Rev Mark Nzukwein, confirmed the incident.

A statement issued by the Communication Director of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. John Jerome, said the priest was abducted by four armed men who invaded his rectory at about 2am on Sunday.

Nzukwein called on the public and all people of goodwill to pray for the safety and quick release of the priest by the abductors who are yet to make contact.

The State Police Command was yet to react to the incident. Spokesperson of the Command, SP Abdullahi Usman, has not responded to inquiry on the incident at the time of filing the report.
