November 11, (THEWILL) – The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has cast his vote, at Ward 6, Unit 4, in Kalaowei Owei Sampou town, Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.

THEWILL reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is conducting gubernatorial election in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo states this Saturday.

Diri, who is seeking re-election, voted around 8.40 am on Saturday.

Similarly, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has cast his vote in the ongoing gubernatorial election in the state.

Ododo, who arrived at Unit 12, Ward 001, Upogoro/Odenku in Okene, Kogi State, at about 9:08 am, voted at about 9:30am

Speaking with newsmen after casting his vote, Ododo said, “I commend INEC management for how far it’s going and as you can see the election is peaceful and orderly.”

Meanwhile, former President, Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, have also cast their votes in the ongoing election.

Jonathan and his wife, former First Lady, Patience, voted at Ward 13 Polling Unit 39, in Otuoeke, Bayelsa state.

Speaking with newsmen, Jonathan expressed concern over the spate of off-cycle elections in Nigeria, calling on the National Assembly to create a legislature that would align all the elections, as off-cycle elections are not healthy for Nigeria’s democracy.

Also, Governor Yahaya Bello has cast his vote at polling unit 11, located in Okene Agassa.

The outgoing governor, who arrived at the poling unit at exactly 09.15 am, voted around 9:33 am.
