September 1, (THEWILL) – Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, is making good progress in his recovery from recent back surgery, according to his assistant, Juanma Lillo.
As THEWILL previously reported, the boss of the English Premier League champions underwent a back operation last week and is expected to return to the dugout after the upcoming international break.
Lillo has been in the hot seat for City’s last two matches and remains in regular contact with Guardiola. “He’s much better and things are going as they should,” Lillo confirmed on Friday. “We’re in touch with him all the time. There would be more energy with Pep here but we share responsibilities and will stay on track.”
City have injury concerns easing ahead of Saturday’s game against Fulham, with John Stones, Phil Foden and Manuel Akanji all close to returning.
