Groups Welcome Ayade’s Policy On Zoning, Urge Otu To Join Guber Race

April 08, (THEWILL) – About 46 political groups drawn from the 196 wards of Cross River State, have welcomed Ayade’s policy of zoning the 2023 governorship seat to the southern senatorial district of Cross River State.
The Political groups are under the auspices of Senator Bassey Otu Support Groups.
The groups also called on the former senator representing the Southern Senatorial district, to join the 2023 Guber race, under the platform of the All-Progressives Congress.
Spokesman of the groups and Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Urban Renewal, Boniface Okache, said the governor’s achievements and stance on zoning are exemplars of the enthronement of justiciable equalities.
He insisted that the achievements of the governor particularly in the area of industrialisation needs to be sustained and strengthened by a competent successor.
He said the groups have chosen to speak out because of the prolonged period of silence and quietude by the Senator over the governorship race saying historical archives of Cross River state representation stands him out.
“It is instructive to mention that we appreciate the zeal of our amiable governor, who has exhibited a mechanism for the Back to South Movement which is the bastion of generational paradigm shift.
“The courage exuded and excited by the Generational Movement (Back to south movement) and evidently supported by our leader and leader of the South-South APC is hinged on morality, virtue, ethics, justice, social and political lineament, which are the exemplars of the enthronement of justiciable equalities.
“The legacies initiated and institutionalised by the Digital Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade need to be sustained and strengthened especially now that there are evolving, emerging and rebounding desire to support and improve upon already existing buoyancy of the APC in the state.
“Having noticed the prolonged period of silence and quietude, hereby step forward to call on Sweet Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu to make an assertive declaration to aspire and contest for the position of governor in the forthcoming election in 2023.
“Senator Prince Bassey Otu as a name is synonymous with Human Capital Empowerment and Development and is today adjudged the most acceptable personality in the Southern Senatorial District of the State and will guarantee victory for the APC in 2023”, he said.
He added that the cap fits him and his emergence will stand for sustainability and continuity of Governor Ayade’s legacy in the development of Cross River State.
Earlier, the convener of the groups, Emmanuel Ironbar, expressed satisfaction with the huge number of people who turned up and said the support groups is all about self-sacrifice.
He thanked Governor Ayade taking poverty out of families in Cross River State and also opening up the political space in the state.
He insisted that only Senator Otu has the capacity to step into Ayade’s shoes and that Cross River State needs a governor who loves his people.
