Gov Ortom Commiserates With Bongos Ikwue Over Wife’s Death

August 11, (THEWILL) – Governor Samuel Ortom, has on behalf of the Government and people of Benue State, consoled the music legend, Bongos Ikwue, over the death of his wife, Josephine Ifeyinwa Ikwue.

Late Josephine, who was 73 years old before her death, hailed from the Ijeh Royal family in Issele–Uku Town in Delta state.

The Governor, who led members of the State Security and Executive Council on Thursday, to pay the music legend a condolence visit at his Otukpo residence, described the death as “painful.”

He particularly noted that having been married and lived together for over 58 years, he understood the pains and trauma Mr Ikwue and other members of the family were going through.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press, Nathaniel Ikyur, Governor Ortom enjoined the music legend he described as a leader and nationalist, as well as other members of Ikwue family, which he is part of through marriage, to be comforted that it was God’s will that allowed his wife to be taken away from them this time.

The Governor encouraged the music maestro to be strong and comforted, saying God who brought them together as a couple and has taken her back to himself will grant him strength.

He prayed to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and the deceased eternal rest.

Responding, the music legend, Bongos Ikwue, thanked Governor Ortom for his show of love and humility in identifying with people in distress and prayed to God to bless him always.
