March 19, (THEWILL)- The Executive Chairman of Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Grace Adagba, has challenged media practitioners in the state to bring to the fore all that the Alia administration was able to do within the short time in office.
Playing host to members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the Board headquarters in Makurdi, Dr Adagba listed prompt payment of salaries and pension, and construction of roads as some of the remarkable feats that need to be projected to the outside world.
According to the SUBEB Chairman, the construction of sixteen township roads, street lights, and renovation of the State Civil Service Secretariat, which have been neglected by the past administration, is also worthy of commendation.
“Form the culture of promoting your own. If the Alia administration fails to deliver the needed dividend now, there will be no Benue again.
“I’m not a supporter of sabotage. I Can’t just be praising the Alia administration for what he has not done. The time of politicking has gone and all must join hands to move the state forward,” she said.
Doctor Adagba, therefore, promised partnership with the Correspondents Chapel and sued for an improvement in reporting the present administration’s activities.
In his remarks, the Secretary of the Board, Dr Joseph Jande, said the Board, under Dr Adagba, is running an open-door policy and pledge to carry members of the chapel along in the course of duty.
Earlier, the Chapel Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Antswen, informed the Chairman that they were in her office to seek partnership on how best they can report activities of SUBEB among others.
He commended the ongoing renovation work at the SUBEB headquarters to give staff and those coming for business a sense of belonging.
