Ghana Captain Uneasy About Ethiopia

Ethiopia may out of the CHAN, but captain of the Black Stars wants his team to take no prisoners on Tuesday.

Jordan Opoku, believes the Walyas will not be pushovers in the final Group C game in the ongoing African Nations Championships.

The Black Stars, who will play at the Free State Stadium, must either beat Ethiopia oravoid defeat and hope for Libya to beat Congo Brazzaville in order to progress to the quarter final stage but Opoku, speaking in an interview, has warned his team mates to be very cautious of their opponents who are already out of the competition.

“Playing Ethiopia will not be easy for us. We are going to face a team that has no points at all and they have been eliminated so we must be very careful. We need to focus and ensure that the game goes in our favour. We have tuned our minds to the fact this will be a complex match for us.”

He revealed that the players are working hard in training and they will study videos of their opponents to help put their plans together.

“We are working hard to keep our focus and determination very high for the match. We know that the outcome depends on us and so, we will watch clips of the Ethiopians later this evening so that things will be easy for us. Our progression lies on us and we have to work hard to move forward.”

Ghana has four points after its first two group games but they will also miss Yahaya Mohammed who is suspended for the game against Ethiopia after picking up his second yellow card.

The other Group C game will see Congo Brazzaville take on Libya at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane also on Tuesday.
