January 09, (THEWILL) – Gavi played his 50th league game for Barcelona in a 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid, becoming the youngest Barcelona player to reach this milestone and the second youngest in the league since the turn of the century.
He was 18 years and 156 days old, just 21 days younger than Iker Muniain, who held the previous record. Gavi has played in all 16 of Barcelona’s league games this season, starting in 11 of them.
Other young players in the top ten for this milestone include Bojan, Messi, and Ansu Fati of Barcelona, as well as Oyarzabal, Fernando Torres, Laporte, Meré, and Musah. Bojan was the previous record-holder for Barcelona players, at 18 years, 7 months, and 25 days old when he reached 50 league games.
Ansu Fati was 19 years, 11 months, and 16 days old when he played his 50th league game.
