April 15, (THEWILL) – The Chairman of Ganduje Ward of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, has disowned some members of the party, who “purportedly” suspended the Acting National Chairman of the party, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Koko, who announced the decision on behalf of the 27 Executives of the ward at a press conference on Monday, in Kano, said those who suspended Dr Ganduje were actually non-members of the party.
“The attention of the Ganduje Ward Executive committee members and that of Dawakin Tofa Local Government chapter of the party was drawn to a purported suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, unfortunately by non-members of the party in the ward.
“Those who addressed the press conference announcing the suspension of Dr Ganduje were sponsored by the NNPP Government in the State and from the records of the party at the ward,local government and state levels, they are not card-carrying members of the APC”, the chairman said.
He, therefore, said that the “purported suspension” was null and void and had no any effect on the National Chairman of the party.
He said both the ward and the local government executives of the party had identified the persons involved in the suspension matter,and had prepared to sue them in court.
Koko said they would charge them to court “for impersonation and calculated attempt to embarrass and dent the image of the party and that of the National Chairman.”
He, therefore, called on all members of the party to disregard the purported suspension and remain calm.
Recall that some Ganduje Ward leaders under the leadership of one, Haladu Gwanjo, had on Monday, suspended Dr Ganduje from the party for alleged corruption.
Gwanjo, who claimed to be the legal adviser of the party at the ward, accused the former Governor of gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his administration in the state.
He said members of the ward resolved to suspend Ganduje having passed a vote of no confidence on him due to his alleged inability to clear his name from “a wide range of allegations of corruption, particularly the widely celebrated dollar video.”
