Gallagher Scores Late to Give Potter Debut Chelsea Victory Against Palace

October 1, (THEWILL) – Graham Potter won his first game as Chelsea manager, thanks to Conor Gallagher’s outstanding injury-time goal as the Blues defeated Crystal Palace 2-1.

Chelsea trailed early in the game, but a 90th-minute goal from substitute Gallagher, who spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park, gave the visitors victory.

In the match on Saturday, Odsonne Edouard gave Palace the lead at home, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored his first goal for Chelsea just before halftime to bring the teams level going into the break.

Aubameyang’s equaliser was aided by Thiago Silva, who Palace thought should have been dismissed, and the late winner from a player Gallagher, who played for them last season, only worsened their reaction.

Chelsea’s next league game is against Wolves in a week, but before then, they are at home against Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. The next match for Palace is against Leeds at Selhurst Park.
