October 21, (THEWILL) – Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a long-term contract extension with Arsenal, the club confirmed on Friday.
The Brazilian made the switch from Lille to the Gunners in 2020, and he has since grown in importance for a team that has benefited from believing in Mikel Arteta’s change process.
Following William Saliba’s promotion to Arsenal’s first squad, Gabriel, who has already made 83 appearances across all competitions, has forged an effective centre-back partnership with the French defender.
The news of the new contract was announced in a statement on Arsenal’s website, however, it is unclear how long Gabriel has signed for as he initially signed a contract that ran through 2025 when he came from Lille.
It is anticipated that Arsenal would take further action to guarantee the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka after securing the 24-year-old Brazilian.
