November 16, (THEWILL) – The highly awaited heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, will be held on February 17, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both boxers are currently undefeated and the winner is set to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion, holding all the major titles.

WBC champion, Fury, will face off against Usyk, who holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts. The bout has been in the works for months after an initial December date was pushed back due to Fury’s recent exhibition bout against Francis Ngannou. The rivals came face-to-face in Saudi Arabia after that fight, stoking anticipation for their upcoming February clash.

Usyk told media that the negotiations involved just a small circle, allowing a contract to finally be signed after a prior meeting between the Ukrainian and Fury. He also said he would not use Fury’s Ngannou showing as fodder for trash talk ahead of their fight.

Fury has not fought a professional boxing match since beating Derek Chisora last December, while Usyk most recently defended his titles against Daniel Dubois in a controversial stoppage win. The February date will give both men time to prepare for what promises to be an epochal battle to crown the king of the heavyweight division.

Boxing fans will get to see who will emerge victorious when Fury and Usyk step into the ring. The winner will go down in history as the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis held all belts in the division.
