September 06, (THEWILL) – Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua appear set for a December showdown, for the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship.
Fury had been in talks to face Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed champion of the WBA Super, WBO, and IBF, until negotiations stagnated. The 32-year-old two-time heavyweight world champion then took to social media to invite Joshua to a fight.
AJ accepted the challenge put forward by the unbeaten Gypsy King and will be back in camp to get himself fit, after failing to reclaim the championships titles he lost to Usyk in their rematch last month.

Fury returned from retirement to challenge Usyk to a unification bout after the latter won his rematch against Joshua, but Usyk declined, saying he will not fight again until 2023, leaving the Mancunian looking for a well-known opponent after changing his mind about retiring.
And as a result, Fury decided to challenge his former verbal sparring partner, AJ, to which Joshua replied: “Yea calm. I don’t do the online discussions just for clout, so if you’re really about it shout @258mgt. I’ll be ready in December. Khalas.”
