August 22, (THEWILL) – Fulham Football Club has announced the signing of Norwegian midfielder, Sander Berge, on a five-year contract from Championship side Burnley.
The English Premier League team reportedly paid around £20 million plus add-ons for the 26-year-old player. Berge’s arrival at Craven Cottage comes after Joao Palhinha’s departure to Bayern Munich, firming up Fulham’s midfield options.
The Norwegian international expressed his excitement about joining Fulham, praising the club’s playing style and stating that it suits his abilities.
Before his move to Fulham, Berge spent the 2023/2024 season with Burnley, having joined them from Sheffield United. Despite making 37 EPL appearances last season, he was unable to prevent Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.
Berge brings international experience to Fulham, having represented Norway 46 times and scoring one goal for his country. His signing is expected to provide Fulham with additional strength and depth in midfield as they aim to improve their League standing.
The transfer is a testament to Fulham’s commitment to strengthening their squad for the 2024/2025 season. Berge’s technical skills and EPL experience could prove valuable as Fulham seek to establish themselves as a consistent top-flight team.
