January 17, (THEWILL) – Fulham is in talks with Arsenal over a possible deal for defender Cedric Soares.
The Portuguese full-back, who worked with Fulham manager, Marco Silva, at Sporting Lisbon in 2014-15, is seen as a player, who can add experience and quality to the team.
Both a loan and permanent transfer are being considered, though the former may require a workaround as Fulham have already filled their quota for loans from other top-flight clubs this season. However, it is not yet thought that a deal is close, as the parties remain apart on finances. Cedric has struggled for playing time this season and has fallen down the pecking order in the Arsenal ranks.

He has made 59 appearances for the club since moving from Southampton in 2020. With Fulham in the market for a right-back, and defender Kevin Mbabu, likely to move on, Cedric could be the solution.
Silva’s team will be back in action on January 23, against Tottenham at Craven Cottage.
