June 04, (THEWILL) – On Court Suzanne-Lenglen on Saturday, Ons Jabeur fought back against Olga Danilovic, to secure a spot in the fourth round of the French Open.

World number 105, Danilovic, initially took charge, claiming the first set of the match. However, Jabeur refused to be deterred and displayed her resilience by regrouping and clinching a 4-6 6-4 6-2 victory in a hard-fought three-setter.

The opening set proved to be a tightly contested battle, and although Danilovic took the lead at 4-3, Jabeur swiftly responded with a break of her own. The unseeded Danilovic managed to secure another break to claim the set 6-4, putting her on the brink of a remarkable upset. Recognising the tough challenge ahead, Jabeur remained composed while Danilovic rallied the crowd in her favour.

The Tunisian star asserted her dominance early in the second set, dropping just one point across her first two service games. However, a crucial break by Jabeur in the fifth game proved pivotal in the match’s outcome. Despite Danilovic’s late break to level at 4-4, Jabeur retaliated immediately, ultimately serving out the set to even the score.

In the decisive third set, Jabeur demonstrated her class as the world number seven, breaking Danilovic’s serve in three consecutive games and securing a commanding 5-2 lead. Although Danilovic suffered an ankle twist and took a medical timeout, Jabeur’s victory remained inevitable. After a long rally on match point, Jabeur emerged triumphant, having spent over two hours on the court.
