France’s President Macron Assures Readiness To Host 2024 Olympic Games

July 26, (THEWILL) – French President Emmanuel Macron has given fresh assurances of France’s readiness to host the 2024 Olympic Games, unequivocally insisting “France is ready, it will be ready for sure.”

In an interview with Franceinfo radio during his visit to the French Pacific territory of New Caledonia, he acknowledged the challenges the country faced: “It’s a lot of preparation, a lot of work… We will be ready and we are preparing for all scenarios with great professionalism.” Macron noted that the authorities were taking proactive action well in advance and learning from past experiences to ensure a smooth and successful event.

Macron also highlighted the significance of the Games for France’s image on the global stage: “It is a France proud of itself, a France that shines, a France that welcomes the world, a France that will show that it is capable of the very greatest, with its athletes and the wonderful spectacle of the opening ceremony.”

The President pointed out that the Games would not only be hosted in Paris but would also include events in other regions like Seine-Saint-Denis, Marseille, and French Polynesia. He said he believed that the event would show the nation’s best and leave a lasting impression on spectators worldwide.

The 2024 Olympic Games are expected to be a moment of pride and accomplishment for France, with Macron underlining the nation’s commitment to excellence. “We will be ready for what could prove to be the biggest challenge of all – an opening ceremony on the waters of the River Seine in Paris,” he stated.

Despite the complexities involved, including accommodation, ticketing, transport, and security, Macron assured that the country was mobilising all its resources to ensure a remarkable and successful showcase of athleticism and hospitality during the Games.
