May 03, (THEWILL) – The Emirate Council of Nasarawa Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, has announced the death of Dr Ishaq Bala Ahmed.
The Council in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Secretary, Hon. (Dr) Idris Mohammed, said Ishaq Ahmed, the Tafidan Nasarawa, died on Sallah day, Monday night.
Ahmed, 68, was a former State Commissioner, one time General Manager of Aso Savings & Loans Ltd. Abuja.
Until his death, he was a Senior Lecturer with the Nasarawa State University, keffi.
The statement noted that late Dr Bala Tafida’s remains have been buried in Nasarawa town, in accordance with Muslim rite.
In attendance at the funeral rites which was held at the Emir’s palace, were the Nasarawa State Governor, Eng Abdullahi Sule, State Executive Council members, traditional rulers, business and political leaders at his burial prayer.
Shortly after the burial according to Islamic rites, the Governor paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Nasarawa, HRH Alhaji Usman Jibrin, at his palace.
He also visited visited the deceased’s family, urging them to accept the death in good faith.
The deceased is survived by 3 wives and 12 children.
