October 08, (THEWILL) -Bandits have released another set of 5 of the remaining 11 abducted students of the Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna.
President, Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend Israel Akanji, confirmed the development in a statement on Friday.
While expressing gratitude for the latest release of the students and matron, Akanji expressed optimism that the remaining six students would be released soon..
Akanji said: “Glory be to God. Five of our Bethel Baptist High School students and the matron, making six, have just been released to us this evening, October 8.
“We thank God and trust that the remaining students will also be released. Thank you for your prayers and support.”.
On July 5, bandits invaded the school located about 6 kilometers away from Kaduna metropolis and abducted 121 students.
The students have since been released in batches by the bandits.
So far, five batches of students, totaling 115 had been released, including those, who escaped from captivity.
