September 02, (THEWILL) – A section of the Katsina State Government House has been razed by fire on Monday morning.

An eyewitness said the fire razed the affected structures for several hours before it was put out around 6:00 a.m.

While no lives were lost, the fire damaged the chamber as well as the storage area for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

The cause of the fire incident has not yet been determined at the time of filing this report.

THEWILL gathered that Governor Dikko Umar Radda was not in town at the time of the incident. He is reported to be in Funtua on a scheduled local government tour to assess his administration’s performance.

The Governor relocated to the office just four months ago following a total refurbishment that cost billions of naira.
