September 16, (THEWILL) – FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Thursday paid an official visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.
He was accompanied by CAF President Patrice Motsepe, NFF President Amaju Pinnick, and Sports Minister Sunday Dare.
Infantino and Motsepe were in the country to grace the kickoff of the inaugural edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Tournament holding in Lagos.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a football and personal titled number 10 shirt from FIFA Infantino presented to the Nigerian president as a goodwill gesture.
Beyond attending the showpiece invitational, CAF President Motsepe is scheduled to meet with different stakeholders in Nigeria to discuss the advancement of football in Africa, especially women’s football.
