BEVERLY HILLS, October 04, (THEWILL) – The President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has finally heeded public outcry as it has advertised the sale of two aircrafts in the presidential fleet and directed that the bids be quoted in US dollars.
According to an advert published in a national daily, a Falcon 7x and Hawker 4000 are the aircraft to be disposed. The advert contained the aircraft highlight, performance date and images of the interior.
Interested buyers were asked to inspect the Falcon at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International, Airport, Abuja, and the Hawker at Cessna Zurich Citation Service Centre, Zurich, Switzerland.
Recall that several civil societies under the banner of Say No Campaign Nigeria had expressed concern over the current economic recession in the country, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to sell off some of the jets in the presidential fleet.
Meanwhile, the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, which is in charge of the sale, pointed out that all bids should be quoted in US dollars. This demand may be an indication that the government is trying to avoid the exchange rate risks presently being experienced by businesses in the country.
