September 22, (THEWILL) – On Day 1 of the Laver Cup, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will play in a doubles match together, in what will be the Swiss icon’s final tournament.
The two have previously played together in the inaugural Laver Cup in 2017, and they will team up once more for Federer’s final tennis match before his retirement on Friday night.
They will compete against the American team of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe; the former, emo is relishing the chance, has competed against Federer and Nadal in the past five years. On that particular occasion, the “Fed-al” team won in three sets.

In London, where the opening night matchup between Andy Murray and Alex de Minaur is scheduled, the venue is anticipated to be sold out given the opportunity of the moment to witness a historic close to an inspiring tennis career.
Casper Ruud, the runner-up at the US Open, will face off against Sock, followed by Stefanos Tsitsipas’ match against Diego Schwartzman. Murray’s match will start after that, followed by Federer and Nadal’s final appearance on the court.
