September 14, (THEWILL) – The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has intensified its manhunt for Fahad Mohamed Nur, offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction over his alleged role in a multimillion-dollar scheme that diverted federal funds meant to feed children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nur has been placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters list, a programme established to publicly identify fugitives accused of major financial crimes and encourage members of the public to provide information that could lead to their capture.
According to the FBI, Nur is wanted on federal charges of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering and money laundering arising from the sprawling Feeding Our Future scandal in Minnesota.
The Bureau said Nur was the owner of a vendor and purported food supplier that received more than $5 million in fraudulent Federal Child Nutrition Programme funds.

Investigators allege that instead of supplying the food for which he was paid, Nur submitted fictitious invoices and other false documentation to obtain and retain federal money.
The FBI said a federal arrest warrant was issued for him on September 13, 2022, in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, Minneapolis, after he was formally charged.
Fled US After Federal Raids
Nur, a naturalised US citizen born in Somalia, reportedly fled the United States in January 2022, shortly after federal authorities launched a major crackdown on the Feeding Our Future network.
According to prosecutors, federal agents conducted raids in Minnesota in January 2022 as part of the investigation into the alleged diversion of hundreds of millions of dollars from the child nutrition programme.
The FBI said Nur has ties to Somalia and may currently be living there, making his capture dependent partly on international cooperation and information from members of the public.
The agency has urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the FBI’s toll-free tip line, any FBI office, the nearest US Embassy or Consulate, or submit information through its online tip system.
The reward is specifically tied to information that results in both Nur’s arrest and conviction.
The FBI’s wanted notice identifies Nur, also known as Nur Abdiwali Hassan, Abdiwali Nur Hassan, Fahad Nur and several other aliases, as a fugitive wanted for alleged financial crimes connected to the child nutrition programme.
