BEVERLY HILLS, January 28, (THEWILL) – The fight between former Ekiti Former Governor, Ayodele Fayose and Oyo Governor, Seyi Makinde appears to linger as the Ekiti state People Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain failed to appear at the South-West PDP meeting.
The notable personalities seen in the meeting include Rivers governor, Nyesom Wike, Governor Makinde, former Osun Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and many others.
Both Fayose and Makinde have been fighting for the soul of the party in the southwest region. Since he is the only PDP governor in the region, Makinde naturally assumed the role of the party leader in the zone.
However, his leadership has been faced with resistance by Fayose, who has refused to recognise Makinde as such.
The details of the ongoing meeting are yet to be known, but what is expected to be on the front burner could be how to find a lasting peace between both chieftains and how to prepare ahead of future elections.
