BEVERLY HILLS, September 10, (THEWILL) – A famous scholar and Chairman, Council of Imamas and Ulama, Kaduna state, Sheikh Abubakar Usman Babantune is dead.
He died at the age of 75 years on Monday at about 3pm after battling with an ailment at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika.
Malam Yusuf Arrigassiyu, Sole Administrator of Shehu Idris College of Health Science and Technology Makarfi, Kaduna State, confirmed the death to newsmen in Kaduna.
Arrigassiyu said the clergy was admitted at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Shika-Zaria two weeks ago.
He is survived by two wives and 21 children.
Arrigasiyyu said the funeral prayer was held at the Sheikh’s residence in lowcost, Zaria.
He has been buried at Dambo cemetery in Zaria after the evening (Magrib) prayer.
