BEVERLY HILLS, February 17, (THEWILL) – An Azman aircraft that broke down last night on the runway of the Murtala Muhammed Airport was this morning cleared by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The aircraft had blocked runway 18R/36L after suffering a burst tyre upon landing.
The Azman aircraft was said to have been moved out of the runway in the early hours of the morning, opening up the international runway hitherto closed to traffic due to the incident
With the removal, runway 18R/36L has once again been opened for flight operations.
The runway was earlier closed following the tyre incident which involved Azman Air’s Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The aircraft with registration 5N SYS, and flight number ZQ2325 had on Tuesday overshot the runway and came to rest in the middle of the runway, causing airlines to cancel flights.
Azman Air Services Limited is a Kano, Nigeria, based domestic airline company.
Established in 2010 by businessman Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, the airline operates scheduled domestic passenger services with its main base in Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.
