August 09, (THEWILL) – Fiorentina have announced the signing of David De Gea on a one-year contract with an option for an additional year.
The 33-year-old Spanish goalkeeper had been without a club since leaving Manchester United in July 2023.
De Gea, who began his career at Atletico Madrid, spent 12 seasons at Manchester United, winning several major trophies including the English Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Europa League. He has also earned 45 caps for Spain, with his last international appearance coming in 2020.
The experienced keeper joins a Fiorentina side that finished eighth in Serie A last season and reached the UEFA Conference League final for the second consecutive year.
His arrival is expected to bolster the team’s goalkeeping options for the upcoming campaign.
