March 26, (THEWILL) – Patrice Evra, a former Manchester United player, has claimed that he will visit Nigeria. On Friday, the former Les Bleus full-back announced the news on his Twitter account, while sharing a video of him making fun of himself.
Evra was spotted dancing in a bathrobe and an old-school wig to a song “Essence” by the international recognised WizKid featuring the younger artiste, who goes by the stage name Tems, in an absolutely hilarious video. The former Monaco defender joked that he has been shown so much love that he needed someone to hate him.
In a video recorded over the background of the song that has since gone viral with over 247,000 views, Evra yelled “I need somebody to hate me” while Tems sang “You do not need no other body” before humourously dropping into his swimming pool.
THEWILL recalls that Evra won the UEFA Champions League with Manchester United in 2008, although he has also lost UCL finals twice, the first as a Monaco player in 2004 and the second as a Manchester United player in 2011.
While playing in the English Premier League with United, he also won the EPL on several occasions and represented France at the World Cup.
The reason for his journey to Nigeria, if he is truly going to visit, is unknown, although he is currently touring schools and academies in his home country of Senegal to encourage children.
Manchester United fans, including many of them in Nigeria, who saw him play for the Red Devils in the 2010s, still hold him in high regard.
