November 09, (THEWILL) – In matchday two of the Confederation of African (CAF) Women’s Champions League at Cairo’s 30 June Stadium, AS Mande lost their second match to Hasaacas Ladies, putting them at the bottom of Group A.

For the second game in a row, Evelyn Badu scored two goals to help her side win and finish off with the Woman of the Match honour.

Badu scored the game’s first goal in the 18th minute, shortly after AS Mande’s goalkeeper suffered an injury that forced her off the field. This was a turning point for AS Mande, as they conceded right after the change.

Hasaacas Ladies ended the first half with a 2-0 lead thanks to Perpetual Agyekum’s second goal. After the interval, Badu scored her second goal and her team’s third, making the score 3-0.

And that was how the game finished with Mande seeing no way back into the game as the ladies could not breach the defense of their opponents Hasaacas Ladies, while finding no comfort in their second loss of the group stages.

Rokiatou Samake, Mande’s Assistant Coach, threw the team under the bus: “My team played in a bad way, not as per my instructions. And this result is normal in that case.”

But, Samake gave a resilient face to the challenge they now face: “We will forget the last two matches and focus on the third match to win the three points”.

On her own part however, Badu, the Hasaacas Ladies Midfielder, who finished the game as Woman of The Match, said: “I’m really grateful to win this award two times in a row and to be the top scorer. This only makes me want to do more.”
