Sparta Prague 0 – 1 AC Milan
Jens Petter Hauge’s 23rd-minute strike against ten-man Sparta gave Milan all three points and secured Group H top spot for the Italians.
Sparta also gave their fans a glimpse of the future of the club with promising performances from Martin Vitík, Tomas Wiesner and Filip Souček. However, mistakes at this level don’t go unpunished, and Milan’s teamwork and organisation prevailed in the end.

This was a rip-roaring, end-to-end encounter and manager Neil Lennon will be delighted with his European debutants, in particular David Turnbull, who capped a fine performance by scoring the winner.
