Dundalk 2 – 4 Arsenal
SAN FRANCISCO, December 11, (THEWILL) – The outcome was expected given team performance in the group so far, but Dundalk attacked with purpose and scored two well-taken goals.
Arsenal’s quality was just too much for them. The Gunners go into the hat for the Round of 32 on Monday, while their opponents can take plenty of heart from their showings in the group, even if it was ultimately fruitless.
With Thursday’s win, Arsenal completed a 100% sweep, winning all the fixtures of their UEFA Europa League group, the only team in the competition to achieve that.
Rapid Wien 2 – 2 Molde
An impressive away performance from Molde earned the Norwegian side enough to go through to the round of 32.
Captain Wolff Eikrem scored either side of a Marcel Ritzmaier strike to put the Norwegians firmly in control. The hosts needed to win either 1-0 or by two clear goals to progress – and they fought to the last. Melih İbrahimoğlu finally breached Andreas Linde’s goal on 90 minutes but it wasn’t enough for the Austrians.
